Kirmac Cares for Kids
You helped us do it! Kirmac’s customers, employees, and suppliers met the goal to raise $1 million dollars for BC Children’s Hospital Foundation. A very big thank you goes out to all supporters of Kirmac Cares for Kids.
Thank You Video Message from Ferris and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.
In May of 2015, a cheque for $370,000 was presented to BCCHF representatives at the Kirmac Employee Appreciation Banquet. The first cheque presentation was made June 2011 for $120,000. For 2016, Kirmac has set a goal of half a million dollars. Together Kirmac’s Customers, Employees and Partners are making a difference in the care provided to children at BC Children’s Hospital!
Kirmac is proud to support BC Children’s Hospital Foundation by donating a percentage of earned income from every repair to help the kids. By having your vehicle repaired at Kirmac, you can turn the unfortunate experience of being involved in an auto accident into a chance to assist in providing better health for the children and youth of British Columbia.
Donations from the Kirmac Cares For Kids program are used to support the purchase of life-saving equipment, research into the treatment, prevention, and cure of childhood diseases, recruitment, and educational programs for caregivers, and programs in communities throughout the province.
Fundraising for the program also includes contributions from Kirmac’s customers, employees, and suppliers. Employees contribute through payroll deductions and participation in “Jeans Day Friday”. Many of Kirmac’s vendors generiously contribute to Kirmac Cares for Kids.
BC Children’s Hospital
An agency of the Provincial Heath Services Authority, BC Children’s provides expert care for the province’s most seriously ill or injured children, including newborns and adolescents. Children’s provides vital specialized health services that may not be available anywhere else in the province.
The mission of BC Children’s Hospital is:
- To be a provincial and regional resource providing child and youth health care and services.
- To integrate our role as an academic health centre so that excellence in care is driven by learning and applying new knowledge; this quest for new knowledge is driven by clinical questions, and continual learning is driven by passion for what we do.
- To provide provincial and regional leadership in assessing and meeting health care needs by working with partners to ensure children, and youth throughout BC have access to excellent care.
