Moving to Vancouver? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’re considering a move to Vancouver, there are some things you should know. Of course, you probably already know how beautiful the city is. With the ocean and the mountains, it’s hard
to find a city that beats the views. With so many industries that play into the city, it’s a great place to find employment as well. Recreation is plentiful, neighborhoods are friendly, and investment opportunities are strong. What else is there to know? As your local Vancouver auto glass service and collision repair professionals, there are some things we see on a regular basis that we’ll let you in on.

The traffic in Vancouver is fairly congested. The good news is you’ll have some awesome views while you wait to get to your destination! There are a lot of people in the city from out of town, whether they are tourists or business professionals, who don’t understand the flow of traffic and are possibly unfamiliar with the streets. Be sure you know where you are going, what the speed limit is, where your turns are, and you should be in good shape for your morning or afternoon commute. You may also consider avoiding rush hour all together, which would mean not driving to and from Vancouver between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m., and also between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Cost of Living

There are a lot of things in Vancouver that are priced high. Because of the high demand to live in Vancouver due to the beauty and economy, home prices in the heart of the city tend to be higher as well, especially as of late. In order to avoid the rising costs of real estate in and around central Vancouver, we recommend looking at more affordable options in the nearby suburbs such as Langley and Maple Ridge. These areas offer beautiful homes in family-friendly neighborhoods at a cost that
won’t break the bank right away.
