5 Safety Items to Keep in Your Car

At Kirmac Collision & Autoglass, we’re proud to provide excellent auto body and glass repair service for cars of all kinds in the Vancouver, BC area. But automotive safety isn’t just about keeping your windshield free of cracks and your car in good shape – it’s also about staying prepared for any situation you might face on the road. For this blog, we’re going to detail 5 safety must-haves to keep in your car at all times. These are easy to find, inexpensive, and can really make a difference in an accident or emergency!

  1. Jumper Cables: These are a classic auto maintenance tool that’s vital to have in your car. Whether you need a jump or you want to be the Good Samaritan, these can give a vehicle the boost it needs to start up a dead battery and get you home safe.
  2.

  3. Spare Tire, Car Jack, & Tire Iron: While the spare tire is generally not meant for driving long distances, it’s a vital thing to have in case of a flat. Just make sure you’re primed with the knowledge of how to change a tire!
  4.

  5. Tire Pressure Gauge: This is small, very cheap, and easy to use. Regularly checking your tire pressure can help improve the safety, handling, and fuel economy of your car, and can help prevent you from needing to change a tire in the first place – so don’t leave home without one!
  6.

  7. Your Car’s Manual: This should already be in the glove compartment, but it’s a critical thing to have. It has loads of safety and maintenance information about your car and is a great resource when you have a question about how to do something.
  8.

  9. Duct Tape & WD-40: There are a thousand things that these can be used for, and they’re a great all-in-one maintenance solution to have with you!
